To become an Overseas Mortgage Professional member costs just £99.99 per year.
For this fee you get:
- Access online to our best 300 mortgage products in over 30 different countries.
- Access to a further 200 plus mortgage products in an additional 20 countries through our mortgage specialists.
- Access to mortgage lender information so you can pre-qualify your client for a particular mortgage before applying.
- Access to a free decision in principle service.
- Access to a quick quote facility allowing you to build a personalised quotation for your client.
- Access to other services that complement mortgages enabling you to earn a larger commission.
We pay our members up to a 40% commission for each completed case. In the event that a member applies for a mortgage that is not available on the OMP system, or a member does not uphold the requirements which entitle them to earn a 40% commission, a reduced commission of 25% will be paid for each completed case.
The commission rate is calculated as a percentage of the total amount that would be earned on the case, including:
- The service fee charged to the client (usually £395 payable on application).
- Any introductory commission earned through the mortgage lender.
- Any commission we earn through additional services, such as conveyancers, foreign exchange merchants and buildings and contents insurers.
In some instances the mortgage provider chosen may not pay a commission or a reduced amount, in these situations we may need to charge the client an additional success fee paid on mortgage offer. When a success fee needs to be charged we will make this clear at the pre-application stage, prior to receiving any fees.

Now I’m registered what is the next step?Once you have registered as member with Overseas Mortgage Professional you will be able to access over 300 of our best international mortgage products online and be able to discuss any potential business you have with a mortgage specialist. In order to apply for a particular mortgage product or make a make a general mortgage enquiry, simply complete our enquiry form which can be found within the Apply section. Once we have received your enquiry one of our mortgage specialists will assess your client’s mortgage options and discuss these with you, they will then try and secure a decision in principle from the relevant mortgage provider(s).
The full mortgage process is completed in just 9 simple steps:

Your designated mortgage specialist will provide you with feedback based on the information provided, explaining the mortgage options available to your client(s). |
Step 3: |
Once a particular mortgage product has been selected by the client, the mortgage specialist will try and secure a decision in principle from the lender. Upon receipt of the decision in principle your client can then decide if they wish to apply for the mortgage (at this stage we will require the £395 service fee). |
Step 4: |
The mortgage specialist will send out our application pack that contains all the relevant documents including a pre-populated application form. This will be sent to either the client or the adviser depending on your preference. |
Step 5: |
Once we have received all the necessary documentation, your mortgage specialist will fully package the application before submitting it to the mortgage lender. |
Step.6: |
Upon receipt of the application, the lender will underwrite the case, the valuation will be instructed and any other lender requirements will be carried out e.g. opening an overseas bank account or arranging life insurance. |
Step 7: |
A formal mortgage offer is issued by the mortgage lender. |

The case manager will liaise with your client's solicitors on your behalf and push for a satisfactory completion. |

Overseas Mortgage Professional will chase any outstanding fees or commissions that are due, then pay you a 40% share of the case commission earned. |
I'm new to advising on overseas mortgages, what support can I expect from Overseas Mortgage Professional?
Overseas Mortgage Pro has a number of mortgage specialists that are on hand to help you should you need it. When applying for a mortgage you will be allocated one of our experienced mortgage specialists who will be on hand to answer any questions that you may have, be in a position to communicate with the mortgage lender on your behalf, complete the necessary applications forms and guide you through the application process.
The mortgage specialist will:
- Give you mortgage lender and product advice to help your client(s) find the most suitable mortgage product.
- Complete all the mortgage application forms on your behalf.
- Fully package the mortgage application.
- Instruct the property valuation when necessary.
- Assist in opening an overseas bank account.
- Contact the solicitor to ensure correct legal documents are in place.
- Arrange life cover assignment with the mortgage lender when necessary.
- Recommend independent overseas solicitors and currency specialists.
- Liaise with the bank regarding additional requirements and further documentation requests.
- Chase the mortgage lender for a formal offer.
- Resubmit your application to an alternative lender for free, if the first lender declines your application for any reason.
- Have direct contact with your client if you so wish. Allowing you to dictate your level of involvement throughout the application process.
